Technical Requirements & Supported Devices

Magpie Literacy is a web-based application compatible with iPads and touch Chromebooks. To ensure an optimal user experience, we recommend certain settings.

At Magpie Literacy, we support the following devices:

iPad recommendation==:
- Have 3GB of RAM or more
- 8th generation iPad or newer
- Must be 17 iOS or newer
Chromebooks:
- Touchscreen
- Have at least 4GB of RAM
- Must be the two latest Chrome releases
- Must pass video decoding test (https://learn.magpie.org/video-player-test) or disable hardware acceleration video decoding

Using other devices? Work with the Magpie team to ensure full operability.

At Magpie Literacy, we support the following web browsers:

Safari 17 (iPad)
Chrome (Latest version)

To find your Chrome browser version, you can do the following:

Open Chrome
Click the three dots in the top right corner
Select Help from the drop-down menu
Select About Google Chrome from the next drop-down menu
The browser version will be displayed at the top of the new page

To find the version of iPadOS Safari on an iPad:

Open Settings on your iPad
Scroll down and select the General tab
Select the About tab
Find the iOS Version section and view the current version
